Abstract
In order to investigate the influence of initial dysphagi severity on that at one week in IBS patients, this study evaluate 46 ischemic brain stroke patients with dysphagia on admission. The patients were divided into a group of moderate
grade
of dysphagia severity on admissxon and another group of severe grade. Results of evaluation of each group and of analysis of the relationship between the dysphagia severity on admission and that at one week are as follows.
1. There was no significant difference in age or sex between patients with moderate grade severity of dysphagia and those with severe grade.
2. Among 29 patients with moderate grade severity of dysphagia, 20 patients(60.9%) returned to normal while 10 patients(58.8%) among 17 patients with severe grade were remained in the same grade. This result implies that patients with
moderate
severity were more prone to improve toward normal funciton of swallowing.
